The 2013 Hookies Awards were this past weekend at Roseland Ballroom here in New York City and I could not have been more excited. The months leading up to the momentous night were long and arduous, requiring several sleepless nights of campaigning and promoting my three nominations for Best Newcomer, Best Dancer, and Best Website. Y'all have no idea how many blowjobs I had to promise to get here!
Black Party weekend was insane this year since I was involved in the planning and execution of the awards show, Black Party Expo, and Black Party - stockpile onto that the fact that I was also an awards finalist and Black Party performer and you can only begin to imagine how thoroughly exhausted (and sore) I was after the festivities were all over. Let's paint scene Friday night after Best Twink nominee Aiden Connors and I finished shopping for our red carpet and awards show looks and finally made our way to the venue.
The awards show opened up Black Party weekend and drew in all of my favorite gaybies and divas to town including Seth Knight, Jake Steel, Mr. Pam, and Chi Chi LaRue. It was really fun being able to see everyone at the awards show and place bets over which tired hooker was going to come out on top (or bottom) as the year's biggest whore. A few of us had multiple nominations, Christopher Daniels, Trenton Ducati, Austin Wolf, and myself included, so the competition was definitely stiff - unfortunately the cocktails upstairs in VIP were not.

A big highlight of the weekend was meeting the fiercely fabulous Chi Chi LaRue. I've wanted to meet her for the longest time and, after tweeting each other back and forth, we finally got to chatting and will hopefully be working with each other very soon! Whoever said you can't have your cake and eat it too clearly hasn't met either of us! I'm horny with excitement to see what she's got in store for me! I'll need someone to help me run lines and stretch for my big debut - where's Rafael Alencar?

Although I was in charge of the upstairs VIP room during the awards show I made sure to also have my fun as an award nominee. After hitting the red carpet I stripped off my blazer and bow tie and got into something more comfortable for Dick Mitchell's photo booth. I love looking dapper but find that a jockstrap and collar are much easier to play around in. What? It's a look.
My friends and I joke that I haven't quite outgrown the phase in my life in which I take off my clothes and run around naked once I no longer need to be in them, but it's kind of true - and I don't think I ever will. Rafael especially had a much easier time locating me once the clothes came off so we grabbed Michael Musto and took our positions in front of the camera. After x amount of cocktails, dancing around naked, and photo ops, I almost forgot that I was nominated for an award so when Robin Byrd began to name off the finalists for Best Newcomer Jay and Rowan grabbed me and we jumped up and down in excitement and anticipation for the winner to be named.

When my name wasn't called for Best Newcomer and Best Dancer I pretty much slumped over to the bar in defeat, thinking I wouldn't win any of my categories but when I heard them announce my win for Best Website I suddenly perked up, dropped my gin and tonic, and ran up to get my award. I think I tripped over Brayden Forrester on the way up to the stage and literally jumped on Erik Rage and kissed Vito Gallo who handed me the microphone. I had completely forgotten my acceptance speech so all I could mumble out was an incoherent, "Yay! There were two, and I thought I lost, but ohmygodIwon! YAY!"
Thank y'all SO very much for voting and getting me nominated in the first place. I didn't really think I would get nominated this year, let alone be a finalist for three categories so I'm more than grateful. I mean, sure - I totally would have loved to sweep the awards show with three wins but I'm not complaining. Maybe next year I'll get nominated for and win Best Top! Let's start campaigning now!
