Trevor NextGen's Fall Fête 2012

The gorgeous Angel Orensanz Center in the Lower East Side

Trevor NextGen is a volunteer division of The Trevor Project whose main goals include raising awareness and promoting the growth of Trevor's programs through outreach and fundraising events in the community. One such event includes our annual Fall Fête which was emceed by Avenue Q's John Tartaglia, and featured music by DJ Lina. The evening included live musical entertainment by Anthony Rapp from the original Broadway cast of Rent, upscale silent auction items, a deluxe raffle ticket prize, and of course a hosted bar.

As much as I love being naked in front of a camera (or just in general, really) there are certain events for which I will pull up my pants, tuck in my shirt, and strap on a bow tie. The Trevor Project is an organization that is very important to me and should also be for you. They provide online and over the phone support to young people 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and also provide lifesaving guidance and resources to parents, educators, and friends. In a time where suicide is the leading cause of death for our youth, an organization such as this truly makes a difference.

The Fall Fête benefits ongoing support for the organization through fundraising and public awareness. All proceeds from the silent auction and raffle go straight to Trevor's programs so that they can continue doing this great work. The night, however, celebrates how far we have come as a community but also highlights the importance of our continued work for future generations. Libations, something that is also very important to me, were provided by Miller Lite, Barefoot Wines and Champagne, and Absolut OUTrageous.

My hot date, Kugie, and I continually made attempts to get our picture taken by TimeOut magazine but every time we tried to make our way over to the red carpet we'd be distracted by another thoroughly attractive man and/or the open bar. Finally we decided to just take out our phones and take obligatory camera phone pictures in front of a mirror at the venue. Mission accomplished, now let's go find more cute boys. Oh! Is that a Schmackery's table?!

Given that it was a Monday night and we were plastered before midnight with day jobs waiting for us the next morning we thought it best to grab a cab back home and decided against another round of drinks at a local bar. I must admit, as much as I don't like wearing clothes I clean up pretty nicely. What do y'all think? Alright, that's enough of that. Let's take these damn things off already!
