BREAKING NEWS: Folsom Street East Returns to NYC

In a letter today from Matt Johnson, the Board Chair of Folsom Street East, it was announced that the iconic street fair would once again return to it's home neighborhood of Chelsea this June 2014.
"Preparations are already well underway. I couldn’t be prouder to be supporting the team that’s bringing it back, but I’m proudest of all of you. Your time, energy and enthusiasm are what makes the fair not only possible but sexy and fun, and what keeps New York the raw, weird, wonderful place we call home. If you want to have a hand in the 2014 street fair, shoot a message to volunteers@folsomstreeteast.org."

The unfortunate news we received regarding last year's cancellation sparked conversation and activism to bring back an event that is not only very near and dear to my heart, but also an integral part of our community. Folsom Street East is an event that helped come into and learn a lot about myself. I believe that it is important to continue to foster and promote a community that celebrates sex and sexuality instead of shying away from, persecuting, and shaming those who do not subscribe to outdated Puritanical ideals.

That being said, I am very excited to have the street fair back this summer and cannot wait to once again be part of a long tradition of promoting and fostering a safe space for people to explore their sexual identity. Join us in keeping New York City kinky!
